BEESTON MEDIA LAUNCH

Propertyclip is soon to become Beeston Media, a name change to reflect our expanded portfolio. Whilst property films are still a core service, the name Propertyclip does not now fully encompass our work with lifestyle brands, luxury goods and.. helicopters! And we don't just make short clips - clients more and more want mini-documentaries for their marketing films.

It's fascinating how the worlds of television and the web are merging and evolving. And it's a climate where marketing films are thriving and can be targeted more specifically than ever before. Yet, in spite of the changes, two things must remain consistent: the quality of the content, and the level of service to the client. And they best sum up what Beeston Media is about.

LONDON BASEMENT RE-BRAND

The London Basement Company has commissioned us to shoot stills for their new rebranding, including structural action shots of excavation and the finished basements. We've also taken portaits of key members of staff. On video, we have taken our specialist camera jib down into couple of London Basement's bigger two-storey basements (both with stunning pools) to reflect the company's increased level of work. Both stills and film will be viewable soon.

RIGBY AND RIGBY BESPOKE PROPERTY

A very nice new client arrived this month, emerging top-end property developers, Rigby and Rigby. With an emphasis on fine joinery and sleek finishes, they are busy carving a niche in the exclusive world of central London boutique developments. And we returned to Propertyclip's roots with a classic 02'30" filmed tour of their latest offering, a £4.95m house in Chelsea. Film soon to be on view on the Showreel.

OPP LIVE ONLINE

The two films we shot at December's OPPLive 2007 event in Excel, London are now complete and streaming online from the OPPLive website. There's a 4 minute overview of what went on at the show to encourage attendees at the upcoming OPPLive 2008 and a more raucous and shorter piece about the OPPLive awards and gala night. Fun was had by all!

EVEN MORE MAURITIUS

After the success of the short Banyan Tree Corniche Bay film, we have been commissioned to produce a longer "feature" film about the Foster+Partners, Gary Player designed resort in Mauritius. This time, our crew travelled out to Mauritius for a packed 4 day shoot, including interviews with the deputy Prime Minister and stunning helicopter aerials of the island and Corniche Bay site. There will be a few weeks post-production now but we are all very excited about the film. Expect to see it in the Showreel soon.

FINANCIAL STILLS

Stills photography is an increasing part of our work and we've just shot a mammoth 30 employees in a day for London financial company Dawnay Day Investment Banking, producing a range of straight and informal images for their new website and marketing material. We set up a studio in a conference room of their central London HQ and they just kept coming and coming. And when the sun shone, we popped outside to pick up exteriors of the offices. A good day and a first job for advertising and marketing agency Stanford Burgess

GRS GREENSCREEN

Property agent referral company GRS International are a new company with big plans for the property industry. At present, they have a simple one-page website, saying who they are and what they do. When the site launches in earnest, the new site will be introduced by a 90 second film produced by us. We shot the presenter against greenscreen in a London Studio this month and are busy sourcing images for the backgrounds. Watch this space for more as we have it.

MAURITIUS MAGIC

Back in February 2007, we made a short film from just a few CGIs to help kick-start the marketing of an exclusive eco-resort in Mauritius, Banyan Tree Corniche Bay. With the project now in full swing, the marketing group C&M Consultants have set up a marketing suite in Chelsea, West London, to spearhead the UK sales of this scheme.

The masterplan comprises c100 gorgeous villas, each set in c1 acre of grounds, designed by iconic architects Foster & Partners. There's also a Hotel / Spa from Banyan Tree and a Gary Player Designed Golf Course.

Our part in all this is a film in which Fosters architect David Summerfield describes the inspiration and design of the villas. We have embedded the film into a slick Flash presentation, along with floorplans and maps, to be delivered via a huge wall-projected display in the marketing suite.

And as the film had to be shown at such a size, there was no other choice for the video format than full 1080p HD (using the same cameras that brought you Planet Earth from the BBC). The picture quality is stunning and we encourage all our clients to choose the Hi-Definition route.

See the film on the Showreel.

NEW TALENT

As our world of marketing films grow, we start to being in new faces. We are never happy to sit still with our film styles and one of the best ways to keep things fresh is to play to the strengths of freelance specialists. James Marshall has brought his editorial talents to a pilot film for Hamptons International estate agents and the Skyquest promo; Adam Dymond, fresh from Aardmans took us further in animation for a newspaper commercial for ITV; and Rupert Troskie is lending his feature film trailer look and style to a company pedigree film for Finchatton

All these specialists bring their own style and ensure we get the right product to the right client. May we see many more of you!

SKYQUEST

It's nowhere near the property world, but a referral brought us an interesting film for video management system (VMS) specialists Skyquest. They make ultra hi-tech kit for police helicopters which allows officers on-board to view and record images from 3 cameras and a moving map simultaneously and then beam them all back to base at the touch of a button.

Where once the Skyquest marketing team had just some stills, technical specs and a handicam home movie to relay on, now they have a mini-documentary of the "Skycops" in action, explaining and singing the praises of the VMS, all shot and edited to feel at home on BBC1 at 8pm! You can see the film on our Showreel.

NEW YEAR, NEW ERA

Happy New Year to you all, and thank you to all our clients who helped push the boundaries of top quality property video marketing last year.

We predict that 2008 will be the year in which online marketing films really come of age.  Videos are now becoming an expected marketing tool rather than just an added bonus. Finchatton, Aylesford International, ADC Blueprint, Northacre and Spink Property are amongst our top clients who are driving the trend.

To make sure our films are prime-time quality, we only use staff with top broadcast quality experience. Commission from us and you'll get people who are used to delivering for the BBC or National Geographic.  To this end we were delighted to welcome Ollie Steele as a new Account Manager this month.  She was a key member of the Discovery Superhomes team, as well as having experience in marketing and presentation.

OPP LIVE

We had a great time at OPP Live. It was an exciting 2 days as our camera team sped round to film interviews with exhibitors, and visitors from all over the world came to see us on our stand.  It was a great chance to show off property films at their highest level, and left us in no doubt that property video marketing and web-streaming have really come of age.

Look out for the edited highlights of OPP Live on this website and the OPP website in the new year. You'll get a great insight into the state of the overseas market, and hear from some of the key players.

LANCASTERS LAUNCH

Luxury developers Northacre have launched their new £300m scheme, The Lancasters, and spearheading the campaign are 2 films from Propertyclip.

The first film, about The Lancasters scheme itself, features sequences on the building as it is now before restoration work begins, on the local area of Hyde Park and surrounding shops, restaurants etc, on other developments done by Northacre and CGIs of how the finished development will be.

The second film looks exclusively at The Art of Northacre, its pedigree of 15 years and £1.5bn worth of residential development in central London.

Filmed concurrently, the films were a fantastic opportunity for Propertyclip to take the property video to the next level. Along with our usual track / dolly for the gliding shots, we used the helicopter team from BBC1's The Apprentice to film Northacre's buildings from the air with spectacular results. Both films can be viewed at The Lancasters marketing suite at Lancaster Gate W2 and on the Propertyclip Showreel.

ADC BLUEPRINT

We've just done our first job for London's ADC Blueprint, a Chelsea-based communications group who specialise in the top-end property sector. We came across them through our work with developer Northacre - we are doing the films for their new Lancasters development and ADC are doing the branding, print brochure and website.

Propertyclip's first project exclusively for ADC was a quick turnaround 2 minute film as part of a pitch by an international estate agency for a multi-million pound new development account. We spent the morning filming on the streets of North London, cut the film in the afternoon (it was very simple in format) and delivered that evening. The finished piece opened the pitch for ADC's clients and ensured the session got going with a bang (and a smile!).

THE BOATYARD, BURRY PORT

Our 03'00" film about Edward Ware Homes' new 40-unit beachside development in Burry Port, South Wales has just had its premiere. The scheme was launched on 22nd September and 19 of the apartments / houses were reserved in the first 48 hours. Edward and the team are thrilled and so are we. It's one thing to film a property that is already built, but quite another challenge to conjure up the atmosphere of a future development when all there is at the moment is an empty field by the sea! You can see the film on our Showreel.

HEDGE FUND SHOOT

It's not property, but it's certainly the right end of the global market for us! Propertyclip were hired by events management specialist Alexander Ball Events to film an advertising photo shoot for one of his clients, a multi-million-pound investment management company. The brief was "MTV style video diary" so we waved the camera around, played with the focus and funked it up in the edit. It makes an interesting change from our more usual classic approach and you can see the results on the Showreel

MARBELLA MANSIONS

As a follow up to the stills film (see Showreel or the window of Aylesford's 440 King's Road office) we did for London estate agents Aylesford International earlier in the year, Propertyclip has been out in Spain to film and take stills of a couple of a multi-million euro Marbella mansions. The stills are for the sales brochures and the film footage will be incorporated into a new Spain-only film for display in the window of Aylesford's offices on Marbella's "Golden Mile".

We have also been asked to remake the London stills film with all new properties ready for the September season.

THE LANCASTERS

London developer Northacre are now underway with their new c90 unit £300m Bayswater scheme, The Lancasters. It's a classic Northacre "revival" of a 130 metre long Victorian facade of 15 stucco townhouses with ultra-modern interiors behind, private gardens, basement swimming pool and car park, right next to Hyde Park.

As part of the off-plan marketing effort, Propertyclip is making a film, in collaboration with communications group  ADC Blueprint. The film will be similar to that at the 44-46 Park Street scheme (see Showreel or the 44-46 Park Street website) but with the added advantage of "before" shots of the building and coverage of the many attractions of the local area. We've done the first couple of days filming but once again are waiting for the weather, especially for the helicopter!

MONTPELIER HALL

Despite the rain, we did manage to get the odd day's filming in this month, notably for a new client, top-end London developers Finchatton. Their latest project is Montpelier Hall, an old university hall of residence in Knightsbridge that they are transforming over the next 2 years into just 6 huge lateral apartments. There'll be ultra-modern hi-tech interiors behind the retained Victorian red brick facade.

As part of the marketing campaign, Propertyclip is making a film to document the transformation. We've done the "before" shots already and some examples of the Finchatton "look" from other completed properties and shall be returning to the site as work progresses. The film project will climax with a helicopter shoot in Spring 2009 to capture the resurrected Montpelier Hall in all its glory.

SUPERSIZE MY HOUSE

Last Friday, Propertyclip footage from the film we made for The London Basement Company appeared on ITV1's Tonight with Trevor McDonald. "Supersize My House" was a special programme devoted to the growing trend of enlarging your home rather than moving. It featured timelapse footage of the erection of a site hoarding and excavation shots from a 1,000 sq ft basement in West London. Company design director Mike Wiseman also had an on-screen word with presenter Fiona Foster.

JOHNNY TURNBULL PROPERTY

We are pleased to announce our first job for high-end buying / selling agent Johnny Turnbull. Johnny used to head up the London arm of Savills property buying service Prime Purchase but has recently set up on his own as Johnny Turnbull Property to act on behalf of a small number of private clients in London's golden residential areas of Kensington & Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Mayfair.

Propertyclip filmed and took stills of a lovely family house in Chelsea for Johnny this month, which will be going to market later in the year.

GOOD WEATHER PLEASE!

Here at Propertyclip, we are all hoping for the sun to shine in the next few weeks.

We've got lots of exciting projects coming up, with early "before" filming for a huge new central London scheme for luxury developer Northacre Plc, a stills shoot of the exterior of Edward Ware Homes's Cardiff scheme, Horizon, (interiors done last year, see below and the Stills Portfolio) and a location film, also for Edward Ware, on a lovely seaside development in the Welsh village of Burry Port. We did the brochure stills for this one back in September and it's great to be going back now with the film kit.

We've also got a few country houses to film for private clients and a return trip to Cape Verde for Sambala on the cards. More to follow when it's ready!

NORTHACRE MAYFAIR LATEST FILM

Now that developer Northacre's 6 unit £45m Mayfair apartment scheme is finished, Propertyclip has returned to London W1 to finish off the film, started during construction last year.

The scaffolding has finally gone, revealing a pristine stone exterior. We threw open the curtains to let the light in, transforming the video footage of key rooms, notably the 40 foot ballroom in the £15m triplex. While we were there, we also filmed another show flat adorned, like the triplex, in fine style by Lifestyles Interiors. It's smaller at c3,500 sq ft but it's still one seriously luxurious apartment and at the time of writing is for rental with estate agents Knight Frank and Wetherells for £6,750 a week.

See the finished film on our Showreel or visit the 44-46 Park Street website to find out more about an  extraordinary Mayfair development.

THE LONDON BASEMENT COMPANY

We've just finished 8 days filming for a 18 mins film for The London Basement Company. Over the last few weeks, we've been filming the various stages of building a London Basement, from the first spade full of earth, right through to the finished basements, one of which even had a swimming pool down there! The dig-out stage is perhaps the most extraordinary with a gang of lads mining away underneath a house, whilst the owners carry on living dirt-free above. Check out the short film on the Showreel for a taste of the underground action! The full film will be online soon.

AYLESFORD STILLS FILMS

Propertyclip has just completed its first job for London-based estate agents Aylesford International, through marketing consultants C&M.

The 09'30" film features over 40 properties around the world currently for sale through Aylesford. The piece was made entirely from still photographs, edited together into a film with zooms, pans and tilts etc added along with graphics and text to mirror the Aylesford in-house magazine. The film will be displayed in the windows of all the Aylesford offices and at trade shows.

You can see the film on the Propertyclip Showreel.

BONUS FILMS

After completing the main web/DVD film for Sambala Developments, we have just edited 7 more short films from the 12 hours of material shot over a week in November in Cape Verde. These range from a more in-depth look at Sambala Resort's Dragoeira showhome to pieces about the local flora/fauna and creole culture. You can see 2 of these films on the Propertyclip Showreel and all 7 on Sambala's own website. The virtual reality graphics were by Bristol company Preconstruct.

SPINK PROPERTY HOLLAND PARK

Spink Property's next house is ready for sale. It's a new departure for company boss Mike Spink as it's a new-build home as opposed to a period renovation. Clarendon House is built on the site of Richard Branson's very first Virgin offices in Portland Road, Holland Park. At nearly 5,200 sq ft, the house is long and low and ultra-modern, with the main living area some 80 feet end to end. The design is by architect Seth Stein, in collaboration with the Spink in-house team.

Propertyclip had 2 days on location, filming a 4 mins film (see Showreel) and also shooting stills (see Stills Portfolio) for the technical brochure. Once again, our property video is leading the marketing campaign, with a web-streamed film and 500x DVDs delivered to the client within a week. The asking price for Clarendon House is £10m.
